Release: NavBot rev. H

The rumours are true: there's a new version of NavBot out, and it's better than ever! Michael Mitchell has been quietly taking apart, improving and putting NavBot back together and the results are impressive. Changes include:
  • Tax and the accountancy skill are now, um, accounted for in the profit calculations
  • Security routes are now calculated correctly! No more being told there's a high-sec route that leads through low-sec space...
  • NavBot will now fill your hold with multiple items of different kinds, opening up some nice extra profit-making opportunities that others are missing.
  • Much, much more!
Download NavBot rev. H and head on over to the project site to let us know what you think of the latest version!

And, as always, happy trading!

I'm having trouble with this release :( It installs just fine, and I can hit the Welcome page in the game. However, as soon as I tell it to formulate trade routes, it seems to hang the in-game browser. Revision G still works fine. I'm running Vista SP1. Anyone else have this problem, or know of any potential solutions?

Hi Gawdzilla,

Sorry to hear you're having problems with this one. Quite a bit was changed, it'd be a good idea to head on over to http://code.google.com/p/navbot/issues/list at the main development site and fill out as many details about the problem as you can. Either I or another of the team will (hopefully) be able to help work out what's going on.

Hi Opencloud,

Love the program it really is something. Don't know how hard this would be to do as i know nothing about making computer programms so..on the list where it shows you your exported items list would it be possible to make these link to the market? thus quickly being able to update my list of exsisting items? Oh and is there anyway to export "all data"? rather having to go through the market viewing an item and exporting it? Keep up the good work :-)

Hi Doyle,

Thanks for the feedback! The "export all" is something I've wanted to do from the start, but unfortunately it's only possible by macroing or sniffing network packets, both things I think CCP would frown on. I'd rather people petition them to add an "Export all" button (trivial to do) than force people underground. However, maybe some enterprising corp will bring out an "export all" tool in the meantime...
As for linking to the market reports: this is a really nice idea. Could you post it to http://code.google.com/p/navbot/issues/list - this is the main project site these days and you'll be able to discuss it directly with the other contributors there. I'm not sure if the pseudo-html in the IGB lets us link to the markets page, but it seems plausible!

hi, seems it's not working anymore since the new patch quantum rise - anyone else same problem??

however, i relly relly like your app, cause it's not just very useful, it's kind of nice way you made the user interface :)

maybe some more options would be great, but if it'S stays like it is i'm glad too.

I'm also facing issues with Rev. H and the latest patch on both my Vista and XP machines. Once it begins to calculate trade routes, it never completes - no massive cpu drain or anything either, just sits there loading.

Hi Anon and Anon,

Thanks for taking the time to post the problems! We're tracking the issue at http://code.google.com/p/navbot/issues/detail?id=29 - don't worry, you're not the only people to experience it. No ETA on a solution yet though.

hello, i was wondering if navbot was apocrypha-compatible?

OpenCloud said...

It should be - if you're having problems, head over to http://code.google.com/p/navbot/issues/list and open an issue. NavBot is open source, so if it's affecting many people somebody will commit a fix fairly quickly.
